Installation

Currently there is no automatic installation. Unzip the file REDSHIFT-0.2b.zip into the Orbiter installation folder. The next time you start Orbiter, select the Modules tab and activate the REDSHIFT module.

The example mission can be flown without any additional addons, so it works with a "vanilla" Orbiter installation. If you want to try the Ariane5 mission, you need Vinka's Multistage.dll and Ariane5 example. If you want to try the SpaceShuttle mission, you should use ShuttleAtlantis V2.0 - I had best results with that shuttle.

Upgrade

As you can see, REDSHIFT is in an early development stage and so a lot of bugs and glitches are found by people using it. I try to fix these problems as soon as I can - but this results in a frequent release of new versions.

To minimize download size for people trying new versions and that have the "standard" package (Version 0.2a) already installed, the latest upgrade REDSHIFT-Upgrade-0.2b.zip can be downloaded here (please unzip the archive into the ...\Orbiter folder of your installtion).

SyncOrbit: Main engine burn problem fixed.

Atlantis: Put the wrong files into 0.2a (sorry). Modified FOP to make use of new Profile parameters.

Launch: Mode "Hover" - Smooth operation of hover thrust during lift-off and delay of re-orientation until safety altitude is reached.

Changes:

Profile: The Ascent processor has two new parameters. MaxG limits the acceleration to a defined limit and LockVz controls the pitch at the "end" of the profile to keep a vertical velocity close to zero.
